Boston, Mass. (April 15,
2003) Delphi Technology, Inc. (DTI), the leading provider of
technology solutions to the risk and insurance market, announces that it has come to
market with an all new, full function workers compensation (WC) system geared toward
carriers, captives and risk retention groups specializing in workers compensation.
DTI has added a workers compensation policy system to its suite of products. OASIS
WCPM is a Windows based policy management system built under the direction of an
Underwriting officer at a major WC carrier. OASIS WCPM is fully integrated with DTIs
best of breed OASIS Claims Management and OASIS Financial Management components to round
out a full function insurance company offering.
Sam Fang, President of DTI, said, "We feel that combining this industry specific
Policy Management system with our proven Workers Compensation Claims system is a
natural. The workers compensation insurance industry has been waiting for a long
time for a thoroughbred offering like this. DTI can now offer full solutions to carriers
as well as TPAs and large self-insureds.
The new functionality is due to DTIs acquisition of HCS Insurance Software Solutions
of San Diego. HCS developed a workers compensation policy management system from the
ground up for a major West Coast carrier. The combination of a WC policy system and
DTIs OASIS Claims Management and Risk Management systems allows DTI to penetrate the
WC industry with a total WC solution set.
OASIS WCPM supports often overlooked functionality necessary for WC companies to properly
rate, issue and manage workers comp policies, including: support for Anniversary
Rating Date, audit solicitation, billing and rating; a flexible set of premium
adjustments; and pre-loaded current NCCI and state specific classification codes.
One of the most remarkable features of this system is the built-in forms and forms
generator. A carrier can issue a quote, and print a complete policy declarations set,
including all state and company specific endorsement forms.
The acquisition of HCS signals the opening of DTIs West Coast office. With offices
in Cambridge, MA and New Brunswick, NJ, DTI easily covers the entire nation.
OASIS Claims Management: DTI has been developing claims systems for over a decade and a
few years ago leveraged that expertise and know-how into designing a WC claims system.
With pedigree roots like that, it is no wonder that this is a comprehensive claims system
that handles all important WC claims functions including lost time calculations,
vocational rehabilitation, litigation and subrogation. There is a powerful and flexible
workflow rules engine and complete diary and file notes capabilities. Users can attach
files to a claim including Word documents, Adobe PDF files and images such as x-rays and
photos. It is hard to imagine a function that has not been thought of in this claims
system.
In addition, DTI offers browser-based solutions such as the OASIS Internet Incident
Reporting System (IIRS), OASIS eClaims, OASIS eServices, and OASIS RAMS/RAMSnet (Risk
Analysis Management System). IIRS allows for Internet reporting of incidents with a direct
entry into OASIS Claims and the automatic completion of any States FROI.
RAMS/RAMSnet is a powerful RMIS, also fully integrated with OASIS Claims allowing for
unlimited cube reporting and graphing of claims and risk data.
The combination of policy, financial and claims modules into a full insurance company WC
offering is a coup for DTI. This is a full-featured system that will empower a WC company
of any size to better manage its policy, billing/collection and claims functions than ever
before. The self-insured company can also reap the benefits of a decade of claims system
development by implementing the claims component on its own. For more information please
