-- Delphi Technology, Inc. (DTI), the leading provider of technology solutions to the
professional liability insurance market, announced today that Medical Liability Mutual
Insurance Company (MLMIC) has gone live with DTI’s OASIS Claims Management system.
Currently MLMIC is the largest writer of medical professional liability insurance in the
state of New York, and is also the largest company of its kind in the nation.
Preparations for the live date included data conversion of 129,000 claims by DTI system
engineers. Intensive on-site training and support was provided to the three regional
offices, to ensure that the users would not miss a step. In addition, customizations were
executed to tailor OASIS to MLMIC’s way of doing business.
MLMIC went live with OASIS Claims on Tuesday, July 8th. The system was rolled out to three
regional offices and over 200 users. In the first week alone, OASIS processed many
transactions – MLMIC users entered 80 reported events and several million dollars of
payments – without a hitch. Since then, MLMIC has successfully closed and balanced an
accounting month.
So far, MLMIC users are very pleased with their OASIS experience. Mel Fontana, Chief
Information Officer at MLMIC, stated: “OASIS is performing exactly as I had hoped it
would.” Daihwan Choi, who acted as Project Manager for this account, noted:

MLMIC has also purchased DTI’s OASIS Policy Management, Financial Management, and
Risk Management system components. MLMIC went live with OASIS Policy and Financial
Management in January of 1999.
