Marsh Releases STARS Version 6.0

(January 2, 2001)-- Marsh Risk Technologies announces the release of version 6.0 of STARS, its risk management information system software.  STARS  is Marsh’s comprehensive PC-based risk management information system that compiles, tracks and analyzes a wide range of information relating to incidents, claims, policies, properties and exposure values.

With STARS version 6.0 users can expect a more powerful and flexible system built on the platform of STARS 5.0, Risk & Insurance’s 1999 Enterprise System of the Year.    One of the most powerful features of the award winning STARS 5.0 system is its robust set of analytical reporting tools.   In addition to those tools, STARS 6.0 adds a seamlessly integrated Ad Hoc Report Manager, nine new analytic report templates and new Pivot Table functionality.  The built-in Pivot Table Wizard makes this new functionality easily accessible by allowing users to organize a report’s data elements on screen while using real time data.

An exciting new self-administration capability of STARS 6.0 is the electronic transmission of First Report of Injury (FROI) forms.  STARS 6.0 is able to electronically transmit FROI forms through a seamless integration with the STARS Approved Vendor Celerity, the industry’s leading FROI vendor.

In keeping with today’s truly global risk management information needs, STARS 6.0 offers several new internationalization features.  Highlighted among these new features is the ability to set financial security settings by currency.  With this feature, maximum financial levels are accurately determined using the current currency exchange rate.
