| (January 9, 2001)-- Marsh Risk Management Technologies announces the formation
of a new branch office in Johannesburg, South Africa. This office will manage and support
all STARS business in Africa. "We are very excited about the market edge that the
STARS product will provide our Region," said Gary Shlom, Regional Director IT of
Marsh South Africa. The increasing demand for risk management information systems solutions in the African marketplace is responsible for the expansion. STARS currently serves clients in more than 16 countries around the world and its international client base will be strengthened by a move into this region, which includes both the Anglo and Francofone territories. "We are very pleased to be partnering with the STARS division of Risk Management Technologies and are excited about this opportunity to participate in the development of Marsh's technology business," said Brian Blake, Chairman of Marsh South Africa.
