ATLANTA - Crawford & Company's Risk Sciences Group (RSG) has released version 4.0 of its Sigma Encore^ risk management information system (RMIS) that utilizes Oracle as the relational database management system (RDBMS). RDBMS is a type of database management system that stores data in the form of related tables which allows the same database to be viewed in many different ways.

"We have redesigned our data model in Oracle to provide greater flexibility and speed as well as added new system tools that will improve our efficiency and configuration services," said Michael Saladino, RSG managing director. The Sigma Encore version 4.0 series also features the following enhancements:

• Password and User Name Integration: Clients may now use previously established user names and passwords to access Sigma Encore.

• Expanded Data Model: The new data model has been expanded to include key non-financial fields such as location code structure and status of claims and can generate reports for any point in time. Financial fields now address gross and net loss dollars.

• "My Reports" Portal Addition: This portal contains all reporting options with save, search, and management utilities.

• Improved Template Reports: Reports now feature multi-level sorts, automatic bursting, and email distribution of report pages, point-in-time selection, Adobe PDF file output format, and various report formatting options.

• Integrated Oracle Discoverer: An intuitive ad-hoc query, reporting, analysis, and Web-publishing tool has been integrated as the ad hoc report and graphical tool that helps decision makers compile useful information to identify and solve problems and make decisions.

• Oracle Report Builder: Can be integrated as an optional ad hoc reporting tool for highly skilled users.

Sigma Encore 4.0 is available as part of each client's RSG support agreement. RSG's RMIS solutions are independent of any broker, carrier, or third party administrator which supports risk management program flexibility.
