- NEW YORKReinsurance intermediary Guy Carpenter & Co. Inc. said it is
introducing a Web-based data management platform that will make it easier for its clients
to access the exposure and loss information they need in a customizable form.
Among the features of the new i-aXs platform are instant access to a repository of
exposure data; data-mining capabilities, including the ability to view and manipulate data
and build custom reports; portfolio analysis; management reporting; streamlined report
tools with immediate updating; user-friendly mapping tools; satellite imaging; and
real-time weather tracking.
Ryan Ogaard, Seattle-based Guy Carpenter managing director and global practice
leader of Instrat, the firms risk and financial modeling group, said if there is a
California fire, for instance, clients can see satellite photos of the affected area
overlaid with indications of where their policies are located.
The product is initially available only for property catastrophe lines, but Guy Carpenter
plans to expand it to other lines as well, including workers compensation, said Mr.
Ogaard.
